Beeville ISD’s Sheree Bogany Named 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Secondary Principal Award Winner

Beeville, TX—Beeville ISD is excited to announce that Sheree Bogany, Principal of A.C. Jones High School, has received the 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Award in the Secondary Principal category—one of the most esteemed accolades for public school leaders in Texas.

The award was presented during a statewide ceremony in downtown Austin yesterday, where educators, community leaders, and supporters gathered to celebrate the exceptional contributions of Texas public school professionals. As part of this honor, A.C. Jones High School will receive a $25,000 grant, and Principal Bogany was awarded $10,000 in personal recognition from H-E-B. This year’s H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards distributed $480,000 in cash prizes and grants to outstanding educators, including teachers, counselors, principals, early childhood facilities, school boards, and school districts. Since its inception in 2002, the program has awarded more than $14 million to educators who exemplify a deep commitment to student success and community engagement.

Principal Sheree Bogany brings over 20 years of educational leadership to A.C. Jones High School. Through her “Championship Focused” initiative, she fosters a culture of achievement and resilience, helping students adopt a “winning” mindset, which has led to gains in STAAR scores and improvements in college, career, and military readiness. Her commitment to academic equity is evident in the W.I.N. (What I Need) program, tailoring instruction to student needs and supporting personalized learning. She has also expanded opportunities for career and technical education certifications and increased early college access. Recognizing the importance of student engagement, Principal Bogany prioritizes inclusive extracurricular offerings reflecting diverse interests. Her dedication has earned her numerous honors, including the Sam Houston State University Distinguished Educator Award and the National Women of Achievement Outstanding Leadership Award. She mentors aspiring educators and actively contributes to community-building efforts across Beeville ISD.

“We are incredibly proud of Mrs. Bogany for being named the H-E-B Outstanding Principal,” said Travis Fanning, Beeville ISD Superintendent of Schools. “Her leadership, dedication, and passion for student success are unmatched, and this recognition is well-deserved. She represents the very best of our district, and we are thrilled to celebrate this honor with her.”

During the event, keynote speaker Admiral William H. McRaven, retired U.S. Navy four-star admiral and former Chancellor of The University of Texas System, underscored the lasting impact of exceptional educators like Bogany. From a pool of over 1,000 nominees statewide, she was selected as one of only two principals honored this year and one of the 68 educators to receive the award.
