How to register/enroll

 

Parents can find the appropriate online forms and instructions to register at

 ASCENDER Parent Portal

Parents or legal guardians are asked to submit basic information via a secure online form for registration. The following documents will be required for new students to the district: student birth certificate, current utility bill, identification for the parent or legal guardian registering the child, immunization record, and social security card. Returning students, parents only need to provide proof of residence (current utility bill) and parent identification. Transfer application for students outside BISD

Transfer applications may be submitted now for the 2024-2025 school year for students transferring from within the district (intra-district transfers) and students

Pre-K program for 4-year-olds military eligibility requirements

Parents of pre-K and kindergarten students will need to register with HMD Elementary, the pre-K kindergarten campus.

·Students are eligible for enrollment in Pre-K if they are dependents of:

·active duty uniformed members (parents or official guardians) of the US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or Coast Guard who have eligible children residing in Texas

·activated or mobilized uniformed members of the Texas National Guard (army or air guard), or activated or mobilized members of the reserve components of the US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or Coast Guard who have eligible children residing in Texas

·uniformed service members who are missing in action (MIA)

 

Documentation that a district employee verified the student’s US DoD (Department of Defense) photo identification for children of active duty service – BISD may not make a copy

A photocopy of the documentation showing that the student is a child of a military member.

Military or Armed Services official letter from a commander (at or above the lieutenant colonel or, for the navy, at the commander level) confirming active or mobilized status, which is acceptable documentation.
